Anita's Diary

July 5, 1961- Wednesday, after siesta.
Anita is talking about the Independence Day barbecue the Mancinis attended at Wimpy's the on July 4th. Anita is informed that Wimpy is aware of their hiding place and that he is doing his best to ensure their safety. Anita also wonders, after she found out that Chucha and Oscar were talking, if they were talking about her. Oscar may have found out about Anita's hiding place in his house.

July 7, 1961- Friday Night
Anits seems with much more hope now that she has a secret comunication with Oscar, who she has developed a crush over. She is becoming very aware of how she looks, and she is starting to want to fix herserlf up for Oscar. Also, during dinner, she had a conversation which she found rather interesting with Tio Pepe, about how humans aren't using their full brain potential.

July 9, 1961- Sunday, Late afternoon.
The Mancinis have gone to the Beach to visit some friends, and the house is empty, just with mom and Anita in it, And so, Anita is finding it very creepy, and all the small sound make her and her mom nervouse. She talks of how they entertain themselves, playing cards, and afterwards trying different hairstyles on herself in the mirror with the help of her mom. Anita is starting to feel more comfortable with her mom.
Later in the evening, Anita and her mom recieve news about Mundin, He is going to be evacuated on an Italian Cruise Ship that is headed to Miami, but, only Mundin gets to go along, and he has to leave Anita and his mom behind because there can only be one suspicious passenger on board, since the SIM is monitoring all ports of exit. Anita starts to worry about her brother, Tio Toni and her Dad, but mami is even more worried.
